While proudly showing off new apartment to his friends, a
college student led the way into the den. "What is the big
brass gong and the hammer for?" one of his friends asked.
"That is the talking clock," the man replied. "How's it
work?"
"Watch,"the man said proceeded to give the gong an ear-
shattering pound with the hammer. Suddenly, someone screamed
from the other side of the wall, "Knock it off（停下来）, you
idiot! It's two o'clock in the morning!"
有个大学生很得意地跟朋友们显摆新住所，把他们领进书房。
“那个大铜锣和锤子是干吗用的？”有个朋友问。
“那是会说话的钟。”这人回答。
“怎么用呢？”
“瞧好了。”这人说着，拿起锤子上前就给铜锣一串震耳欲聋的敲打
。
突然，隔壁有人大喊：“别敲了，你个蠢货！都凌晨两点了！”
