John Gyakum是麦吉尔大学大气和海洋科学系教授和主任,天气动力气象学家。研究领域为气旋(包括飓风和中纬度气旋)以及热带-温带气旋的温带转换。研究兴趣包括极端降水情况(比如:强冰暴、致洪暴雨、干旱、北极气团质量生成、天气预报等)。从1987年开始任教于麦吉尔大学,为加拿大天气动力气象学研究人员中的领军人物。
