Topic: In last century, the first man walked on the moon and said: “It was a great step for mankind.” But in fact people think it has made little difference on most people's lives today. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
All the human beings will never forget the historic moment when the first man stepped on the moon. It had ever been a dream lasting for thousands of years that we desired to land on the legendary moon to unveil its secrets. But it still remains controversial whether it was really a great step for human as said by the first man. Some people assert that it has made little difference on most people’s lives today. From my perspective, I do not approve of the point. I do believe the historic moment has exerted a great impact to our lives.
Without doubt, our technology is still under maturity to fully explore the moon. We have not completely utilized what we got or learnt from the moon to facilitate our lives, which, as is raised in the topic by some people, has seemingly made no differences to our lives.
But if you think deeper, you will realize numerous profound impacts the great deed brought to us. First of all, the moon-landing deed has laid down a solid foundation for our later exploration of the universe and other planets like Mars. In the past, the universe and other planets were far more mysterious to man then they are now. People did not fly beyond the earth gravity limit. However, after the successful landing on the moon, we learnt a wealth of experience through summarizing the whole procedure, which established a solid foundation of the following aviation activities like the launch of the man-carrying spacecrafts and the exploration of the Mars. In the second place, the glorious landing on the moon has enormously inspired us mentally and psychologically. It has greatly strengthened our initial and somewhat wavering belief that we could really fly over our planet and reach another. This strengthened belief, after the great landing event, has grown at a staggering speed. The motivation of developing universe-exploring technologies and vehicles has become ever-active that it leads to our giant progress every day, even every second. Last but not least, through studying carefully the rocks and circumstances on the moon, we could analyze whether there is life trace on the planet and the possibility of life in the future, preparing for the “planet immigration” once the earth faces deadly threat in the future.
Altogether, the moon-landing event is literally a historic and impressive moment and has brought numerous benefits to us, whether they be material or spiritual! |
