Jan 3 (Reuters) - A Chinese television drama that was pulled off the air after the female characters appeared on screen showing cleavage has returned to the screen, though this time showing only the actresses' heads, state news agency Xinhua said on Saturday.
路透社1月3日消息，中国电视剧《武则天》此前因为剧中女演员的着装大尺度而遭停播，剧中角色由于过多展示事业线而被叫停，近日该电视剧又恢复播出，但女演员们的镜头大多只显示头部。
The drama, "The Empress of China" also known as the "Saga of Wu Zetian", was removed by commercial satellite station Hunan TV for "technical reasons" in late December, Xinhua said.
此出电视剧《中国女皇帝》又名《武媚娘传奇》讲述武则天当上皇帝的传奇故事，但在12月末，湖南卫视以“技术原因”为由停播该剧。
"Many viewers speculated the suspension was a punishment given by the country's television regulators for the much-discussed revealing costumes of female characters on the show, which stirred online debate in which the female characters were dubbed 'squeezed breasts'," Xinhua said.
据新华社报道，许多观众推测电视剧的停播是剧中女角色的过度暴露在播出后引起了激烈的反响和讨论才惨遭掐断，“不是来看剧的，而是来看球的”，此剧热播后，观众对于剧中女星个个挤胸大露事业线的画面表示震惊。
Chinese Internet users responded by complaining about the censorship on Weibo, China's version of Twitter. Several complained that they would not be able to see the hundreds of costume changes by Fan Bingbing, one of China's most popular actresses, who plays the Empress Wu. Others questioned whether the low necklines had to be banned on television.
中国网民在微博上纷纷对审查机构表示讨伐，抱怨将不能够看到中国著名女演员范冰冰在剧中的上百套服装造型，范冰冰在剧中饰演的正是武则天。观众更是质疑是否所有女演员的低胸镜头都会被全面禁止播出。
"Can revealing cleavage really be considered pornographic?" wrote a microblogger. "Isn't this feudalism?"
“难道暴露事业线就是色情吗？”有网友对于此剧的改变表达了不满：“这样的做法未免太过封建。”
